Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/8/17
The good times have continued on into the month of July the bass are still very active; I believe if we can keep these rainy afternoons the good times will continue. I also feel very strong that if we continue these rainy daily patterns that we will see a good old fashion early frog bite. The years where we have always seen the best frog bite has always been on these rain abundant summers where the wind and rain help keep the grass from getting so think that you can't fish it.
This past week we had several short 4 hr. days on the water but the four hour trips produced daily catches of 15 to 20 bass in 8 to 15 ft. of water. The Missile bait '48" stick bait got the numbers while Tight-Line swim jigs produced most of the size during our outings. There was also a top water bite with Picasso Lure buzz baits leading the way on catches, it wasn't everyday but when they were on it we had a blast.
Persistence and patience paid off and if you're on the water look for the keys like bait action and just hang in there and you will get bit. (Note: my report is second hand as I am not back on the water yet.)
