Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/9/16
The intense heat had some say-so over the fishing conditions this past week, the fish are migrating to the thick grass and getting them to bite had its challenges. Summer is here and the long dog-days will tighten up the fishing restricting your ability to have great days until we start to see some cooling temperatures. This certainly does not mean you won't catch fish only that it will get tougher and there will be more tough times than good times.
We caught some fish this week, it was just tougher and conditions were physically demanding past mid-morning as the heat is just stifling on the water. The good news is with the fish moving into the grass your options to catch fish, like top-water baits and heavy weighted baits to get into the grass help you find that great stringer. The bass will group up under the grass and when you find fish there will be many more.
I am fishing top-water baits like Picasso buzz baits, walk the dog baits and popping baits early and moving to the grass edge as the day progresses. I like running SPRO baby Little Johns over the drop coming off the grass edges.
Come fish with me no one will treat you better or work harder to see you have a great day on the water. We accommodate individuals, groups and corporate fishing groups and have plenty of guides to fish with you.
