Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/17/10
This past week you could finally tell that the heat has taken its toll on the oxygen in the water, the bass activity was slow, bites were hard to find and active feeding fish were few and far. Most the schooling activity was small white bass, with some late day activity each day with large mouth.
The one exception for me was Saturday where the clouds cooled the heat of the day and the wind added some activity to the feeding fish. The early top water bite was strong during the over cast day and the mid day bite picked up just a little.
Most our top water fish were caught on Secret Weapon buzz baits, over grass areas in the slews. I believe the fish are moving to the grass and we should start to see the frog bite get stronger as the summer goes on.
