Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/18/09
It was another incredible week on Guntersville, the number of trips I had was down a little as the heat of the summer is slowing down the number of brave souls on the water. The fishing however has not slowed the numbers were up with 35 plus fish most days and the size was bigger as we put several 7 lb. fish in the boat over the week.
The key for me was finding grass on the river channel, the fish have definitely moved to the channel and ledges. So if you found the grass on the channel there was generally several bites to be had! There has been a variety of ways that we are catching fish, most have come on big Mister Twister worms but we have caught them on Tight-Line jigs, top water baits like SWL buzz bait and cranking a deep crank bait over the ledges and muscle beds.
With some cool weather coming I suspect the bite will still be great on into August, I have days and times available for fishing that have not been booked. There is plenty of good times ahead come fish with me, it's the good times on the lake!
