Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/24/10
The hottest week of the year was certainly a challenge, not only was it tough on fishing but it was tough on the body and the mental part of fishing. The early part of the week started out with a little cloud cover and the bass were active. As we got into mid week the heat and sun were tough to overcome and the fishing was slow with it.
The only exception seemed if you could stand the heat in the mid part of the day they were pulling water and it turned the deep fish on around the ledges, the only problem was you were in 20 plus feet of water and having patience in 100 degree temperature to wait on the bite made for gutsy fishing.
We fished most of the week with top water baits early, Tight-Line jigs on into the day and Carolina rigged Go-2-Bait worms. Fishing is tough but it still beats a day at the office. Come fish with me fall is near and there are fish to be caught!
