Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/28/12
The roller coaster ride continued this past week; fishing is changing from day to day with the change in wind direction and or the intensity of the sun! The water temperature at day break is in the high 80's and by 11am it is up into the low 90's. Certainly not what the doctor ordered for great fishing!
When we are finding fish there are a couple of patterns that have produced fair amounts of bites: the first pattern is the frog bite, it is definitely showing some signs of picking up, there are mats that are becoming nasty and producing bites and when you catch one it is a good fish. The Spro frog is producing in several areas of the lake for me. The next pattern is a small Mister Twister ring worm it is working around grass lines and catching small fish and every now and then some fish in the 4 lb. range. You really have to let it move slowly to get a bite and sometimes sit on the bottom and shake it.
The Spro frog Tournament is coming to Guntersville on 8/25 out of Water front tackle, the frog bite should be great by then! The monies paid back is at 100% so it should be some good revenue for the winners.
