Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 7/5/14
With this being a holiday week I was off the water more than I was on, but the time I spent fishing was very good especially early in the morning on top water. The bass really responded well to fishing over deep with water with a Zara Spook. We caught several good fish the first morning out and they bite for nearly 4 hours just killing the spook.
The next day I was on the water it appeared to all change as the top water bite was nonexistent so we went back to working big worms, Tight-Line jigs and Missile bait swim baits over the grass. We did move on to some deep grass and flipped a big jig some and had some opportunities to put some fish in the boat but missed them.
Fishing is still pretty good, you have to limit your time on the water because of the heat but there are still plenty of chances to land your best bass of the year.
The SPRO frog only tournament is getting closer, the field is increasing everyday and we are expecting the best turn out ever with an anticipated 400 boats for the tournament. With an anticipated winning payout of $20,000 this could be the best of the best with tons of give-away and the biggest pay out ever in a frog tournament. Mark your calendar for 9/6/14 and register now for the tournament.
