Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/5/17
Cool nights, north wind, temperatures below 90 all add up to some great summer time fishing. If you have been around north Alabama over the past 5 to 6 years you know that this is an unusual summer with all the rain and cooler temperatures; fishing is great and the fall looks even better.
The real secret to catching fish is just getting on the water you can't catch them from the couch, but if you just work you bait slow, find the grass and fish with conviction you will be catching fish. The bait I am still fishing with are Missile bait '48" stick baits this has been real consistent in 6 to 10 ft. of water. I also still rolling Punisher Spinner baits over deeper grass and pulling a SPRO Baby Little John square bill off the edges. As I have reported the frog bite is also great, it seems the middle part of the day is best for the frog bite. With the SPRO frog tournament set for 10/7/17 this will be a banner frog year.
Fishing is good catching is good, I have days and guides available to fish with you; we work hard to make sure you have a great time on the water. Need some electronics instruction or maybe you want to learn to fish some specific bait; come fish with us we love to teach and help you become better and have some fun on the water? We fish with great sponsor products, Ranger Boats, Power Pole products, Lowrance electronics and more.
