Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/26/12
Although this past week had some ups and downs it was more related to the water level than the activity! Many folks don't realize that in the summer time when you're looking for the some consistency in frog fishing one of the worst things that can happen is the water level to get raised from one day to the other! This past week we started the week with the water down a foot or so and the frog bite was strong; Friday came around the water level was up about a foot and the frog bite slowed with it.
I spent most of the week helping folks find frog fish, so my presentation was limited to Spro frogs over grass; we had some great trips early in the week, but as stated by Friday we were struggling. We did have one day early in the week where we fished a variety of baits and had plenty of fish to show for it.
To those who are interested, the first of an annual Spro Frog Tournament went off with nearly 100 boats, it took over 23 lbs. to win it; there were plenty of give-away tackle and other items to the participants and folks had a great time!
Fishing is definitely getting better, fall is on top of us and there is plenty of great fall fishing ahead.
