Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/27/11
With still some personal things going on I did not get a chance to get on the water so my report is second hand from my other guides. It appears that the 60 degree night time temperature had a positive effect on the fishing. All indication are that the bite picked up especially early in the morning as the cooling night time temperatures helped the top water bite. Most of my guides reported better early morning catches this past week.
We also noticed some movement off the grass during the high sunny part of the day as the big worm and Tight-Line jig bite was also better than it's been. It appears that you had to move to the 10 ft ditches away from the grass during the high sun, but if you did the results were pretty good.
If we can continue to see some cooling at night the frog bite could be an all day affair as we get into September, and that would be exactly what we are looking for! Fishing seems to be improving and the best part of the fall bite is almost here.
