Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 8/3/14
After a 10 day change of pace and being off the water for most of it, I returned for a couple of short days on Wednesday and Saturday; it was not what I had been use to prior to my days off. It appears that the heat of the last few weeks changed things and the bass were harder to get them to bite.
I believe they are burying in the grass and slowing in activity and we had to work harder for the bites we did get. The key is finding some activity like schooling fish and if you could do that the bite wasn't bad; unfortunately I could not find the active fish easily and it required me to move a lot over the areas where I know the fish are! The best bite came on top with either SPRO frogs or Spooks. My swim bait bite seemed gone at least at this point.
Fishing will constantly change as we go through August as it normally does in the heat of the month but as we see some cooling at night it should evolve quickly. Come fish with me no one will treat you better; I have days and guides available to fish with you.
