Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 9/11/10
This past week had some highlights and some lowlights, the bass just never established a strong fall pattern and consequently it was "hit and miss" all week long. We are really in need of some strong rain to break up the massive grass flats covering the lake.
The water temperature is in the mid 70's on the surface, I'm sure its warmer below, but certainly cool enough to move the bass if the grass was just broke up more.
My week ended with some TV filming with Joey Mines of West Point Ga. We were all part of a TV filming for the introduction of Secret Weapons Lures newest bait called a SLOG, it's an innovative bait that moves like a snake just under the water that should hit the bait industry shortly. Kind of a cross between the swim bait technology and chatter bait technology. At first use for me it appears to be a look and action that should have many uses as we caught plenty of fish on it during the filming.
All said a tough week, some numbers caught, but big fish were at a premium. Most our fish that we did catch were caught on top water baits and soft plastics.
