Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 9/19/10
The fishing showed signs of improvement this past week, the fish moved off the grass mats and provided some good days on the water. The weird thing is we caught several fish that were really skinny telling me that they have feed very little in this past month of heat and dry conditions. However, make no mistake about it your still fighting the heat and bright sun, it's limiting the bites and making the some tough physical days in hot summer time weather.
Not only did we have some good days but we caught several fish in the later part of the week that was in the 6 lb. range and bigger. So things have improved the bass are hitting several types of top water baits from Secret Weapon Lure buzz baits, buzz frogs and Tru-Tungsten frogs. We also caught fish on Tight-Line jigs flipping the edges of the grass with black and tequila color, in a 1 oz. flipping jig. The biggest change was the addition of the crank bait bite, we starting finding cranking fish on Thursday and continued on into the weekend.
Fishing is improving and the lake it coming back from the dog days of August, you just need to get out on the lake and you should find it much improved yet hot sticky and ups and downs throughout a day of fishing .
