Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 9/24/11
The last couple days of this past week showed great signs of what brings people to Guntersville from all parts of the country. The frog bite raised its head the last 2 days of the week and one day it actually lasted all day. If you couldn't find a frog bite then the top water bite off the grass was also pretty good; and several different baits worked to produce bites as we caught them on El Grande Buzz Fogs, Zara Spooks, Pop-r and wake baits.
There was certainly some down time over the 8 hour period but if you continued to work different techniques eventually you got back into the fish. The early part of the week was more of a worm bite and you had to work at it to get that pattern to produce but again if you stayed with it eventually you found a worm pattern and had a good time.
No doubt the fall fishing is getting better every day and I expect October to be a great month on the lake. The sun is grouping them up and the rain is thinning the grass and the combination is producing fish.
