Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 9/29/13
The strong bluebird sky days at the end of this past week really changed the bite compared to the early part of the week, where we had clouds, fog and misting rain. It was a story of two beginnings and two results as we absolutely knocked them out when fishing during the cloudy, foggy mornings but when the sun popped out it got really tough!
I had one day fishing a grass line where we were fishing SPRO Fat Papa crank baits and had just a record stringer with many fish in the 5 lb. range; it appeared to me if the water was up they pushed to the 8 to 9 ft. drops and when it was down they backed out to the 10 to 14 ft. drops. When they pushed out the Fat Papa was the bait of choice, when the fish moved up we caught them on Tight-Line jigs with Missile bait trailers, their new Baby D-Bomb was just perfect for your trailer for your jig.
Fishing is picking up everyday these cool mornings are dropping water temperature and eroding the grass lines opening up areas and exposing the fish as it should this time of year.
