Fishing Report, Lake Guntersville 5/9/09
Fishing this past week was so good; it was easy! I never thought I would make this statement but it is true. I can't remember when Guntersville has produced like it has this past week, it didn't take much effort and no matter what bait you were fishing you could catch fish.
As I have always loved the spinner bait bite, I spent most of the week fishing Punisher Spinner Baits in ghost, watermelon and royal shad colors over the grass and ledges. It's a time of year that the shad have hatched and moved to the ledges and the bass are hitting moving spinner baits like you can't imagine. The B.A.S.S. Elite Pros are having record catches, well on to their way to a 100 pound four day winner stringer and the catching over a 100 bass a day. My customers have had great days and there are many more to come before the heat slows the bite for the summer.
This next week should be the start of some great top water action as well as the spinner bait bite should still in full swing. There is some great days ahead and we should continue seeing great catches until late May. Come fish with me I have days available to fish with you.
