Fishing has continued to really surprise us in a good way and really not much has changed in the past 6 weeks except the spots where we are catching the salmon. Now the salmon are only 5 minutes from the harbour mouth. If you can get out very soon give us a shout. We have been taking out locals but the travel restrictions end after this weekend so anyone in Canada will be able to come fish.
The Chinook are ranging from 7-15 lbs which is a very good size for this time of year. We haven't been getting many in the 20lb range but we will probably see a few here soon. The Chinook are biting around tide changes and then we have been going to get our ling cod. There are halibut around close by as well however we haven't spent much time fishing them since the guests’ priority has been salmon and lingcod. If you want halibut they are there.
If you are wanting to come on a fishing charter in Ucluelet with us in 2021 expect accommodation to be in short supply like these past few summers. This past summer was the hardest season yet to find accommodation.
