Fishing Team "The Sharks"
By: Capt. Hap Farrell
This last Saturday, the 6th of Aug., I had a group of young women whose father decided to take them fishing aboard the Stunmai II out of Rock Harbor in Orleans on Cape Cod. This group of young girls were of one family that loves to fish together. And today they formed a new fishing team called "The Sharks".
About half the charter fleet from the harbor were out on this half day trip, which was in the afternoon. I'd been on the early morning trip and did fairly well with 6 nice stripers and a number of bluefish. The afternoon trip was much slower for most of the boats. I went to a secret spot where I knew there would be a few bluefish, a small striper or two and some black sea bass. Well, the newly formed fishing team, "The Sharks", went to work. Kylie, on the far left in the photo, Jillian, Kayla, and Parker Fordyce. They, as a team, landed between 17 and 20 fish. Four times the better than any other boat. Kayla landed two nice size bluefish on one umbrella rig. It was a tough fish but she managed in like a pro.
If you see these anglers at your harbor and they challenge you to a fishing contest do not take them on. You will live to regret it. They will out fish you, out laugh you, and put you to shame with their winning ways. When they out fished 7 other boats and caught more fish than all of them put together you now you're dealing with hard core pros.
