We had two half day charters today for Fluke. The first started at 10AM with a Father and Son Jeff and Mike Joy (Mike's 12th birthday), day was a tad windy and the bay had white caps rolling up. Started at the TC, then SP, Reach, Bug Light managed 4 keepers, dozens of Robbins and about 9 shorts. Not a good bite at all and no one around us was doing anything either. Tried several differant bait combos and rigs, nothing got them biting.

The second charter began at 4 PM, 4 college buddies from Kansas (yes Toto, Kansas). Again the fish were not cooperating and the bay was still rolling, hit the TC, Belford Channel, Port Monmouth hole, Bug lite and Sandy Hook Channel. Boated several shorts, many robbins and a Star Gazer.

While it was not anywhere near good fishing to you or I, 12 year old Mike and the boys from the prairie had the time of their lives. All were hooting and hollering, laughing and just enjoying the moment.

Puts things in perspective. As I have told my kids many a time, some of my best times on the water or in the woods I did not bring home anything physically, but mentally I had a full day with natures wonders
