January and February are the two peak months for sailfish. When the wind is out of the north, north east or north west and blue water meets north current, sailfish will meet your baits swimming under the kites. We normally fly two kites with two or three baits suspended from each kite. Goggle eyes are the preferred bait. Small blue runners and mullet will also get plenty of bites. Mahi Mahi will also readilly take your baits as well alot of medium fish with a big one or two mixed in. Hammerhead sharks will also try your baits which will cut your mono leaders quickly. However if you fish wire youre in for a long fight on light tackle. We often fish a large dead bait intended for sharks out of the kite on heavier tackle and some other baits mixed in the water column. Call Capt. Mike at 954 522 4773 to book your trip today.
