The mahi action continues to heat up this month. While there are still a few nice bulls and cows around the attention is focused more on the schoolies from 5-10 pounds. Once these shools are located sheer enjoyment can be had by scaling down the tackle to 12 # or even lighter. First throw jigs at them, any small pink, yellow or white jig will do. Once they wise up to the jigs throw some chunk baits or squid, occassionally throw some freebies (no hooks) to keep their intrest. If they turn off after that go to the small livies. Although pilchards are great those small jacks 2-3 in you find around the boards and weedlines are even better. A couple of tosses with a small sabiki rig will get you all you need.

This past week on the "Local Knowledge" we had the pitcher for the Mets, Pedro Martinez on the boat. We scored big with some schoolie dolphin and then hit the reef for some snappers. Frank and Pedro, thank you very much we may have had more fun than you guys, thanks again and see you guys soon.

If this sounds like fun to you call me Capt. Mike at 954 522 4773 to book your trip today.
