October and the beginning of November have already begin producing good numbers of sailfish. On average we are seeing between 1 and three fish on any given trip. Plus good numbers of mahi mahis and a few nice wahoos mixed in. Live bait fishing with goggle eyes suspended from a kite is the real ticket to this fishery. Our customers love because even they see the bite as the sailfish comes in waving his bill and displaying his sail, as he circles the bait and feeds. The angler comes tight and the fight is on! Average fight time is between 10 and 20 minutes. We find the sailfish normally between 80 and 300 feet of water. Fishing Fort Lauderdale in these depths puts you just about a mile and a half from shore so you can watch your sailfish jump with beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach as a backdrop. Give us a call at 954 522 4773 to catch your dreamfish!
