Mr. Payne, Wayne and Bob came fishing aboard the Lady Pamela IV today. We started off the fishing trip catching a few King Mackerel fish in 100 ft of water on the troll. The trolling was a bit slow so we moved on to live bait kite fishing with a dozen live goggle eye bait fish and a bottom bait down deep. The bite was NOT instant. It took a good two hours to get a bite, but it was well worth the wait. Everybody was watching and waiting just as a Sailfish ate the short bait; within seconds, it fell off. Right after our loss, our bottom bait got a hit and the rod bent over drastically. In the mist of our bottom bait being eaten in 150 ft of water, a Sailfish came up interested on our left long bait; double-header! Wayne was fighting the Sailfish and Bob was full on with the big monster below. Good boat handling, a great mate and two strong anglers got the job done. In just 45 minutes, the Lady Pamela IV had a 9 ft Hammerhead Shark along with a 6 ft Sailfish swimming just feet from the transom. Fishing in Fort Lauderdale was great today.

This morning, Daniel, Kim and Bill left the dock for an 8 AM start aboard the Lady Pamela IV. Daniel and Kim hoped to catch a big shark after hearing about the large migration of Sharks that moved down to South Florida. Trolling was the first thing on our to do list. We trolled baits in 40 ft of water, 60 ft of water and had 4 top baits. The Blackfin Tuna were the first takers of the day; ranging from 5-10 lbs. Shortly after we caught some Tuna, we moved into 300 ft of water with 1 ½ knots of current. Two live baits and three big baits went down deep. It wasn't long before Daniel was hooked up with the fish of a lifetime; a 12 ft long Thresher Shark. I have been fishing offshore Fort Lauderdale for years, and I have only caught a handful of Thresher Sharks.

Tight Lines!
