I know its only been a few days since my last report but I had to write about this trip. We went out on the Catch My drift on our weekly Friday night open boat trip. It was a really nice night out there, good weather, good drift, etc... Started off on our first drift and caught our first swordfish of the night right away. Had a couple other nibbles from some other stuff. Actually we caught a pretty huge Cuban Night Shark, about a 120 pounder. Set up on our second drift and got another nice swordfish. This was about 15 miles offshore of Ft. Lauderdale, slap dab in the middle of the gulfstream. Both fish ate dead squids rigged with 300# leaders and 10/0 single hooks. 1 fish was our 75' deep bait and the other was out 150' bait. It was a great night and a really fun trip. Along with some sore muscles, everyone that went got a ton of Swordfish steaks for their freezers. Until next week, cya on the water.
