Walnut Creek 10/3
The low water is making fishing challenging, however there is an amply supply of fish in the system. The bulk of the fish are located downstream of RT 5, however most of the angling pressure is from the chutes down to the mouth. Casting spoons at night has been producing fish as well as bait under lighted floats. Early mornings saw aggressive fish responding to size 8-12 wollybuggers in black browns, olives, purple and white.
Single egg flies in size 12-16 in white, peach and cheese suspended under indicators have been producing good numbers of fish, as is single egg under floats. Shiners have been producing a few fish through out the day, but where most effective in the mornings
Elk Creek 10/4
The majority of the fish are located in the slower sections of the creek. Very little flow is in the creek right now and low water has slow the up stream movements.
