Weather permitting fishing has been good so far this Spring. Early out trollers have reported good catches of large walleyes. Best areas have been North of Kelleys to Middle Island and east and northeast of the Island. Drifters are starting to pick up walleyes on bottom bouncers, harnesses and weight forwards. Again, size has been good.
Perch fishing has been good with a number of limits being reported. Best areas for perch have been the northwest west corner of Kelleys to the red can of Gull Shoal.
Fishing should continue to improve as the water warms and the fish become more active after the spawn.Experts cite that it takes about 10 days after spawn to become active feeders again.
Best of luck out there! www.kelleysislandcharters.com
