Fishing Report, 10/27/07 Lake Guntersville
Its been an exceptional week on Lake Guntersville, we were blessed with overcast and rain most of the week; and the bass fishing was just super. With the exception of Sunday where we had another blue bird sky day we averaged over 20 bass a day with some good 3 to 5 pound fish in the catches as well.
The lake is still covered in Milfoil in most areas and the bass have been holding close to the grass edges most of the week. The water temperature has been in the low 70's most of the week so the grass hasn't really started to die off, but has created plenty of openings to find fish in.
I spent most of the week in the mid section to as far North as BB Comer Bridge fishing the milfoil edges in 4 to 9 feet of water. When you found the fish they were aggressive and schooled up for the most part. You generally caught 4 or 5 in the same area when you found them.
Until we get some extremely cold weather I expect the rest of the fall to be good fishing and for the lake to continue to get better and better. There still a lot of baitfish and this should keep the bass feeding for the rest of the fall.
