Classic Red fish bite yesterday July 7th with Greg his friend Kyle and Kyle's father.
We started off float fishing in the river in about 20 foot of water looking for some Trout.
There were a few there but the 3 pound Jacks made it hard to get a shrimp to the Trout. I don't know any body that doesn't love catching 3lb Jacks because they are a great fight…
After an hour or so of float fishing it was off to the creeks to try to get the Red fish hooked up. There were plenty of them but they did not want to play…
With about an hour left to fish I suggested that we pick a school of Reds and just soak some blue crabs. It took about 20 minutes before it went crazy. We had 2 big fish hit at the same time and both of them broke us off on the shell mound.
We had no choice but to cast over the shell mound because the fish were in behind it. After hooking 8 reds we did manage to boat 3 nice fish in the 6lb range. The kids had a ball and that was all that mattered.
I love putting kids on nice fish because the look on there face is priceless!!
