With the cooler temps the crappie fishing has picked up with some good numbers of fish being caught. On an average half day trip we are averaging 80 to 100 crappie with around 26 to 35 nice keepers. Most of the fish have been coming off live bait but the jig bite should get better each day. The crappie are starting to move up out of the deep water to brush in the 15 to 25 ft range and in timber in the 15 to 20 ft range.

The next couple of months is the best time to catch big numbers of keeper crappie on Ray Roberts. Last year September was the top month of the year and I look for this year to be as good or better.

The whitebass and largemouth bite has been good as well on Ray Roberts.

If your looking to get into some great action on one of the best lakes in North Texas. The next couple months will be a good time to make plans to fish Lake Ray Roberts.
