Today we participated in Bolesta Center's Third Annual "Get Hooked" Fishing Tournament. Bolesta is one of only a handful of independent, non-profit Auditory-Verbal centers in the USA and one of only a very few such centers that operate out of its own facility. It is the only program of its kind in the state of Florida.
On board today we had the pleasure of meeting Mark, Darren and Dwayne. We quickly ran up the Little Manatee river to a spot we had scored 10 snook just the day prior. Tossing white baits at the mangroves results in several snook and redfish all on the small side. We then looked for trout to complete the inshore slam. We moved onto the flats just off Cockroach Bay but 15 minutes with out a bite had us move into slightly deeper water. Within seconds we had several trout completing our slam. We then ran north looking for bigger fish which we found but were primarily jacks, we did lose a couple of nice redfish just prior to heading back to tournament headquarters at Little Harbor. Great day, lots of fun and a wonderful cause.
