We left the dock at 6:15 and with a gentle swell and calm seas combined with the speed of the SWEET DREAM III we were lines in on the northern end of Stellwagen bank and the first fish in box by 7:15. The bite was non stop with about 1 keeper for every 10 shorts, that makes for a lot catching and by 1:30 the crew had limited out and everyones arms and shoulders were aching. Water temps are in the low 40's and the bank was loaded with sand eels and whales. The fish were feeding on the shoal water chasing the bait. The amount of bait boads well for the entire season, I expect the tuna to show up in June and stay with this kind of bait around. But now is the time for cod and haddock, I still have some weekend dates in May and June so now is the time to book and get in on the bite.
