17 Knot Southerly winds made for bumpy ride to get to 75 fathom depths Southeast of Beaufort Inlet to deep drop for snowy grouper, tile fish and red porgies. Arriving just in time for daylight, we starting catching 7-10 pound snowy grouper, 3-10 tile fish and 2 pound red porgies in 450'+ depths, After catching the parties limit of 6 snowies, one yellow edge grouper and 11 tile fish, we trolled Northeast 8 miles to fish for trigger fish. One dolfin , a 4 pounder, was caught on a Monk Lure while traveling to the trigger fish spot.

Party of 6 people from Maryland landed 120 trigger fish, their limit, in four hours so we came home early since there weren't any other species we could reach in remaining fishing time to finish our 17 hour trip.

Total catch yielded almost 600 pounds of grat eating fish.

Sunrise II has been operated by Capt Bobby Freeman for 26 years and he knows where to find your preferred bottom fish as well as trolling for dolfin, wahoo and tuna. Another favorite has been jigging for amberjacks on offshore wrecks. As many as 20 have been caught in an hour when the fishing is hot. Largest has been 55pounds 5 ounces to date!
