CHASE N' TAILS FISHING CHARTERS

This week has been great the water temp is starting to climb back up from 83 and now is 87 degrees. Redfish has been the targeted species and on my recent charters we have caught some big fat reds look from Aripeka to Higgenbotham the reds are in the back creeks and on the out side points look for rocky bottom, oyster bars, mangroves, and around spartina grass. The redfish are chewing on cut pinfish really well I use a 2/0 circle hook with a 20 suffix leader free line the bait to keep it as natural as possible also the top water action is great as well I have been throwing the Rapala Skitter walk in the mullet, and white color work the lure on the slow side. The schools are 3-10 per school the reds will school up in the 30 + come late September.

The trout are all over the place from the Hernando Beach rock cuts to the shallow flats and out deep, there are alot of small trout but we are getting some quality size trout up to 23". We are using top waters in the early morning and the mirro- lure mirro- deens and white jerk baits rig the jerk baits weedless with a number 4 or 5 wide gap weedless hook with a loop knot. The trout are ranging from 12-23" .

We are starting to see spanish mackrel on the flats crashing on the small green backs that hatch a few months ago also there are bluefish around these bait schools I like to throw a small mirro-deen in the green back color to catch these fish.
