FIshing has been off to a great start this month. There have still been quite a few mahi mahi around in tight between 100-500 feet of water. We had a big weather system move in on us for a few days but once it was gone we were met with a pretty blue edge which was holding not only the previously mentioned mahi mahi but some blackfin tunas and quite a few sailfish. We normally dont catch that many sailfish in June but for Kelton, Reid and Rodney from Texas ,we went 3 for 4 on the "spindle beaks". What a great day! While I truly enjoy every trip and every group of people, we really hit it off with these guys and just had a great time. Looking forward to catching these guys a big swordfish in the not to distant future.

Speaking of swordfish they have been biting great and June and July bring calm seas to Fort Lauderdale and thats the best kind of weather for that type of fishing. We typically troll our way out to the sword grounds and catch some mahi mahi and maybe a tuna or wahoo on the way. We make a couple of drops to bottom in 1700 feet of water, catch a fat swordfish and come home for some great sword steaks on the grill. Inshore along with tuna and mahi have been the king fish and bonitas. I was a little worried about the kings theyve been running extremely late but finally made it.

Lets Go Fishing!
