7/4 - I had the pleasure of fishing with good friends Anicieto and Ruben, also joining us on the trip was Juan and Brad from Austin. Fishing has been great and today was no exception. The fish cooperated from the beginning. Our topwaters drew attention from hungry trout and reds. We were fishing a huge mullet line and the fish were in the mist of the bait. Juan who had never caught a red before accomplished his first red 20 minutes into our first wade.
The rest of the guys strung reds and trout also. The second spot was non productive, but on the third stop I struck with a 27 ½ inch trout the hit my TTK II. The last stop of the day was the most productive, we all stood in one spot and proceeded to catch redfish after redfish. We never moved from the hole, while the school of redfish would circle around and someone would be bent up. We did this for about two hours and called it quits because some of the guys were worn out including me. Everyone caught fish and we all had a great time. Fishing had been good and more schools of redfish are starting to show up. Juan and Brad I had a great time and hope we can do it again, but next time don't bring all of HEB with you.
6/28 Today, I took out good friend of mine Trey Crocker, his wife Amber and their two kids. Just put the kids on fish was the objective for the day. We spent the day under the causeway and the fish cooperated for the family and kids. They caught a variety of species along with a nice trout and flounder. The kids had fun and mom I believe caught the most fish. Dad caught mainly the pillars of the causeway, he needs to practice his casting techniques for the next trip. Thanks for the experience Crocker family. Here are some photos that mark the moment.
