Captain Judy's Saltwater Fishing Report
Inshore, Offshore, Freshies Suggestions, and "Little Miss Judy's Believe It or Not!"
Gulf Stream
I really don't have any official reports from this past week. It has been a windy one for sure. However, I would like to say, "it's getting that time of the year where so called blue and green water fish mix!" With that being said, "dolphin, tuna, Wahoo, and billfish" can be anywhere where there is water. The reason being is that all water temperatures are on the warm side. The edge normally that is formed between the stream and western waters is about the same. I suggest pulling those desired lures in areas that look fishy and over some sort of live bottom AKA structure.
I remember this one time during the end of June where I found myself in some of the warmest bluest water I have ever seen. From my bridge there were unbelievable sights seen. We watched as what looked like a pair large manta rays swim around in this hot spot filtering and eating as they went. All fishermen were on the bridge watching as these rays move in large circles within the hot zone. It was the bluest in-depth water I have ever seen. It was very illuminating to all onboard. My temperature gauge was up there as it was showing over 85 degrees. It was so strange that even if your weren't looking at the temperature gauge you knew when you entered, cruised the perimeter, and left the hot zone. I could see with my own eyes where the cooler water met the warmer 80 degrees stuff! It truly was one of my most memorable visits to the blue waters of the stream!
