The fishing has stayed excellent, even through this brief HOT SPELL. The walleyes for the most part though seem to be keying on certain depths and certain offerings being trolled. I'm still using cranks on one side with Gulp Worms and harnesses on the other with really good success. Targeting two different layers of the water column expand your chances of intercepting active fish. And even though I'm marking lots of fish and bait in all depths, that 21 to 24 FOW seems to be the best depth for the more active/biting fish, at least on the West side of the channel. This may be due to the type of bottom strata that's holding the walleyes preferred baitfish right now, I'm not real sure of that fact. But with the last 3 trips proving that water depth theory out, you gotta stick with what works. Here's some fish from my last 2 trips out. Will be booking charter trips until mid September if the fishing stays as steady as it has been. Still lots of good dates left. Be safe, fish smart and tight lines. Capt. Dan.
