Fort Lauderdale Fishing on Happy Day Today with Capt. Zsak
This time of the year there is a large migration of Bonitos, mixed in with Black Fin Tunas. For the past two weeks we have been averaging between 10-15 fish a trip, mostly mixtures of Black Fin Tunas, Bonitos, Kingfish and Barracudas – Mahi Mahi's have been a hit or miss – one day we catch them and the next day we don't.
Michael Fallon and son from Illinois along with friends chartered the Happy Day Today along with the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea charter fishing in Fort Lauderdale FL. We started off fishing at the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale FL which sits in 120 ft. of water – our drop off – 1.8 miles from shore. We had two plainers down, one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink sea witch in front of a double hook Bonito strip. For surface baits we had four Bonito strips and a yellow jap feather. As we trolled in and out of the drop off, I headed towards one of 34 artificial wrecks in Fort Lauderdale FL. While trolling Michael and son caught Kingfish, Bonitos and Black Fin Tunas and spent an afternoon bonding. It was time to head back to the dock at Bahia Mar 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
