January 2010 Quepos Costa Rica Fishing Reports
Here in Quepos, we look forward to our coming New Year. Our Captains here in Quepos at the pier yesterday afternoon came in with this. Brian White came in Releasing 2 Sailfish and 1 Dorado which he brought out for dinner. Bob Bauer fishing one of our 27' Outboards raised 6 Sailfish and released 2 of them. Jeff Bara who fished one of our 33' Sportfishers released 2 Sailfish and had 3 big Dorado. He was really pleased with the crew. Today our inshore boys fished with Justin and had 5 a few beautiful Rooster, a really nice snapper, and a couple of Mackerals
Our 33' Bodacious departed Los Suenos this morning at 0600. The mothership departed at 0700 bound for Bahia Carrillo 60 miles up the coast, to meet up with Bodacious after fishing north. Capt. Chris put the baits in 30 miles due south of Carrillo on the 1,000 fathom line. They had 1 stripe and 1 blue in the pattern, but could not convert. They went 1 for 5 on the sailfish. Colby released a nice 120 pound sail. They kept 4 dorado and released 2 more. The weather was a bit bumpy, but fishable. Not a bad first day. Our other Game Boat, Jana Lynn caught 2 Blue's, both around 300 pounds very near the area Bodacious fished. I believe the plan for tomorrow will be to fish the same area We will keep reports updated from Quepos Sailfishing Charters as we close out the year. Thanks for another good one everyone!!
Today client Sandy Francis in Quepos with Family released 1 Sail and 3 Dorado, Client John Briggs headed offshore from Quepos and released 5 Sailfish and clients fishing up towards Carillo had a huge Dorado bite but no Sails today. Happy New Year Everyone we hope that everyone gets a chance to get down to Costa Rica this year to fish with us at www.queposfishing.com
