CHASE N' TAILS FISHING CHARTERS FISHING REPORT..
White Bait are thick and perfect size 3-5 inches long. The cast net i use is a 8 foot Black Preal with a 1/4 inch mesh i like the small mesh just because the bait fish won't get stuck in the net. White bait are candy to redfish, snook, and trout.
The Snook are out and they are feeding we got into some very nice snook on wednesday morning. We used a Berkely Gulp new penny jerk bait and caught snook up to 30 inches long.
Redfish are on the outside shore line look for the mullet and the big schools of reds are right in the mix feeding on what ever the mullet kick up shrimp, crabs, ect. Live white bait are candy for the redfish we are catching redfish in the upper slot and over 25-31 inches. Topwater lures such as Rapala skitter walks are producing some great catches and Berkely gulp white or new penny jerk baits work great as well.
Trout are starting to move out into deeper water start off in 3-4 feet with good grassy bottom with some sand pockets and keep working your way out. Live shrimp and white bait work great and a topwater action first thing in the morning is the way to go most trout are 17-24 inches.
The tarpon will start to show i belive within the next few weeks into May and along with the poons the cobia will show up as well so the fishing is great we are catching alot of BIG fish right now book your self a great inshore fishing trip.
