Boy the summer is getting hot and the fishing could not be hotter! If you have not booked a trip with Extremeflatsfishing.com your local Tampa Bay Fishing Charter you are missing out on all of the action. We have caught Tarpon, Snook, Redfish, and Trout all here on the Tampa Bay this week.

Our Tampa Bay Tarpon fishing is still in full swing. With early morning hook ups jumping as many as four Tampa Bay Tarpon on a good day last week, but on average we have been jumping a fish per trip. We have been fishing the Sky Way Bridge primarily hooking up using live Menhaden anchoring up current to the bridge. The Skyway holds some of the largest Tarpon in the Tampa Bay area and when they hit you know it! Screaming drag and bending rods! I am not sure if there is anything more exciting than 50lb test screaming off a reel!

This week we have also caught Snook in great numbers in and along the Mangroves of the Terra Cia Bay and Anna Maria Island while free lining white bait. This is really a great experience if you have never done it. Throwing live pilchards into a school of Snook and they have been really lighting it up! Once you see a fish blow up throw your free lined white bait into the boil and its fish on! We have caught a great number of Snook this week using this method and 3 quality Snook over 30' on Monday the 9th of June. It seems that our Tampa Bay Backwater Snook are bunkering down in the usual spots for the summer and we are all over them! To me there is nothing better than light tackle Snook fishing battling one of Tampa Bay's top shallow water sportsfish.

What a come back! Just a few years ago red tide put a big hurt on our Trout fishing and we are showing signs of a great return. We have been catching Trout everywhere we have wet a hook this week, and I mean good Trout up to 26 inches. We have fished Terra Cia Bay, Anna Maria Island, and Lower Tampa Bay and have been successful catching Trout while fishing for Snook and Tarpon. Monday the 9th of June we were fishing the Tampa Bay in one of my usual Tarpon spots and could not keep the Trout off the line. Here we are fishing with 50lb test Tarpon fishing and hooking up on 20' trout. I looked at my client Jim and said lets drop down to the light tackle and we had a blast. We caught in the ball park of 15 Trout up to 26'.

This week we have been so busy catching Tarpon, Trout, and Snook we have spent little time fishing for Redfish; although we have still mixed in a few Snook fishing.
