CHASE N' TAILS FISHING CHARTERS FISHING & SCALLOPING REPORT...
This weekend was great Saturday and Sunday was for my Dad he wanted to catch some redfish and that we did. Saturday started off at 6:00 a.m cast netting green backs on the flats and 6:30 a.m we were on are first redfish hole. It did not take long before we got are first hit from a nice 24" red but 10 minutes later all hell broke lose we could not keep a rod in the water for 1 minute and we would have another redfish on the line, we got redfish up to 30" and the smallest was 24" non stop action for 2 1/2 hours on the first spot.
About that time it was 9:30 a.m and we had to pick up my wife at the dock to go scalloping once we got in 6 feet of water we jump over and started to pick up the tasty scallops from the
bottom then in the distance we heard thunder and at 10:30 we were forced to head back in for the day. Sunday was the same way got back on to some big redfish in the morning then went scalloping for the rest of the day what a great weekend..
The scallops are in 5-7 feet of water look for grass, and sand holes if you dont find any in 10
minutes start moving around until you find them i will let you know were the hot spots are on my next report still to early to tell were they are thick at..
Trout are in deep water 12-14 feet on mix bottom use a gulp 3" new penny shrimp with a 1/4oz jig head work it slowy on the bottom doing this you can also catch sea bass, grouper, sharks, cobia, and mackrel. Redfish are starting to school up in large schools 20-30 fish, live greens and cut pinfish works great or a topwater plug in the morning produces awesome action.
