Huli Cat set out Sunday morning, March 25 at 7:30am. A little later departure than usual due to daylight savings time and not wanting to run over any crab buoys. Pulled the crab pots using hydraulics, got 30 Dungeness crab. Moved out a little farther the start to look for sanddabs.
The kingfish (white croaker) were on the bite and really wanted to eat the jigs. These were a little smaller than what we usually see during salmon season. Huli Cat kept moving out to get way from the kingfish. We soon had limits of kingfish anyway and barely enough sanddabs at 11 1/2 miles from Pillar Point Harbor to make meals for the anglers.
