A group want a Humbolddt sqid / crab combo, so off we went the morning after Turkey day. SF buoy was almost calm, like 2 kts, HMB buoy was 14 gusting to 17 kts. Real time has all small white arrows, how could that be? Well, I found out! It was howlign at the 20 mile mark. Dropping in at 1095 feet, below the HMB weather buoy, the drift took us to 1,280 ft. Picked them up and re-set as a few of the anglers were not used to keeping constant pressure on the squid. A couple times we had every rod on the boat hooked up. We finished up coming inside to run two strings of crab pots, 21 crab.
