We fished Sebago Lake on April 10th and 20th with excellent success. Due to cold water conditions we have been using sewed on and live smelts, trolled very slowly primarily with sinking flyline and lead core line. We boated eight salmon between 16 and 27" on the 10th and 7 salmon between 15 and 23.5 " on the 20th. In addition we caught 3 lake trout using downriggers and lead core line. The smaller fish looked healthy but the larger fish were skinny (racers). Hopefully they will fatten up during the smelt run. The trick to catching these fish is to be out at daybreak when the fish are chasing smelts on the surface. As the sun gets higher the fish will go down deeper and you will need to switch to lead core line and downriggers to get them.
