With winds laying down this week Smokin Em Too fished the Inshore water of the Indian River and found the fish more than ready to bite. Even though water clarity is not 100% we found Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Jacks and Mangrove Snapper all willing to take our baits.
Our first day of fishing we fished the lower area of Jensen beach and found Snook ready to take our Mirrodine's fishing the docks of Sailfish Flats. We also found a lot of Snook working the bait schools and a cast into those schools of bait meant an almost instant hook up. Some fish were in the SLOT, however most were around 24-27".
Our second day found us fishing the area of the Power Plant Flats and Bear Point area to find Trout, Tarpon and Jacks ready to take baits. Large Tarpon in the 100-150 pound class are working the area of Big Mudd at first morning light. After hooking onto 2 of these monsters on live mullet cast in front of rolling fish we concentrated on the Trout bite. Most Trout are in the 15-20" range and are starting to school up rather nicely. Jacks are crashing the schools of glass minnows and mullet and casting in those areas is like pot luck of what will hit the lure.
Smokin Em Charters has a few openings left for October for both Inshore and Offshore fishing charters. So check us out on the web at
