CHASE N' TAILS FISHING CHARTERS FISHING REPORT,
Man it is great to have the heat back into the forcast this winter was the most brutal winter i have seen yet. But winter is over with and spring is in full swing. The bait fish are starting to show now and along with them are the mackerel and
blue fish, target water depth of 6-12 feet on hard bottom or artificial reefs using live shrimp or pinfish for bait on a 2-3/0 long shank hook will reduce cut offs and put more fish in the boat.
The trout are on the move from the creeks out onto the grass flats and around spoil islands we have been using live shrimp on a 2/0 circle hook free lining the shrimp into the strick zone. Also Berkely Gulp white or new penny jerk baits are
producing just as good as shrimp the trout are 16-25 inches.
The redfish are chewing very good now i have been out just about every day this week and we are limiting out on reds in no time large shrimp with the tail piched off for sent works great
also there are green backs out there now and greens are redfish candy, cut pin fish and fresh cut mullet are also working great use a 3/0 circle hook and 20-30 lb suffix leader will do the job. The redfish are in the upper slot to over the slot 25-32 inches. The topwater action is picking up now is the time to get your favorite topwater lure out and start throwing it.
AS we move threw April ther will be more and more green backs and start to look for the cobia around tripods markers, crab traps, and near shore rocks piles and come May its Tarpon time so get out there and go fishing or give me a call and book a great fishing trip.
Tight lines
