Rod-Man Report November 2, 2006
Hi Folks,
Quality fall fishing is in full swing. Whether you are looking for flounder, trout, drum, or bigger fish like king mackerel and more, they are biting.
Now here's my report:
Inshore: Fishing is hot! Specks are here, reds are here and nice flounder are here. Specks are biting live finger mullet, or artificials like 1/4 oz. lead heads with Gulp SW. Reds are biting live or dead bait, and flounder are biting live finger mullet of menhaden.
Near shore: Just like they do every year, big schools of red drum are patrolling the beaches. You can catch them with just about any bait, artificial or natural. Gray trout and some flounder are on the inshore artificial and natural reefs. Bluefish are biting around the inlets, particularly on high tide.
Offshore: Kings are biting in the 10-40 mile areas. Frying Pan Tower is a hot spot this time of year.
Gulfstream: Wahoo and some tuna are biting.
Interest in the Rod-Man Fishing School is really heating up and registrations are coming in steadily. All sorts of new and interesting things are planned for this year's school.
