Fishing report for the week ending 12/20/09 With the new year just around the corner its time the cold fronts start pushing thru and we get into our winter pattern. Many of the snook and redfish have been in transition to there winter spots with this warm weather. Snook have been easy to find in the clear water but hard to get to bite at times with the smaller ones being the most aggressive. Redfish have been roaming the flats on the higher tides and have not got to there winter potholes. There had been good amounts of small baitfish in the bay and near the passes up until Thursday but the coldfront that is here will take care of that pushing them south. Fishing Wednesday with Aron Alexander and a friend we caught mackeral, bluefish, trout and a couple of nice pompano throwing redfish majic in 3-6 ft. of water. These guys were suprised to see a 3 ft. blacktip shark that picked up one of the jigs, just showing how warm the water has been. With this coldfront we should get into a winter pattern soon.
