One of the most revered rock bands of all times had it right. It really is "Getting Better All The Time"!! We have had a tough go of it for quiet a while down here on the Lower Laguna Madre this year. 2 hurricanes, brown tide, high water, and tons of rain have all had their negative effect on the legendary sight-fishing down here this year. Blind casting with lures and flies remained fairly consistent but fishing to tailers and sight-fishing has been tough at best. About 4 days ago, I went out on a short expedition and was blessed with things coming back to normal. I did two drifts in clear water 1-2.5 ft. deep which has been at a premium and had really good action. Got about 20 shots and ended up with 6 on fly and one on a soft plastic, all sight-fishing. A few were over 8 lbs. which is a great fish down here. Saw a handful definetly over 10 lbs. maybe pushing 12 lbs. That is it for now, I am keeping my fingers crossed that once we get past this full moon and turn off the rain, things will be very active and consistent for sight-fishing as they should be this time of year.
